Mayor Ridenour Snorts Over Womans Concerns
At Wednesday’s public hearing for the North County Corridor a member of the public while relating her and her neighbors concerns had Mayor Ridenour snort derisively as if it was funny when she expressed concerns for her elderly neighbors. despite the fact this was a meeting scheduled specifically to hear public concerns. And as usual the UN-elected officials from Stancog couldn’t all make it. For the second meeting running Supervisor Grover(the $28,000 dollar man) was too busy to attend.
Concern was expressed that Kernan Ave. was being stolen by private concerns from its owners to be used by Modesto businessmen, the Common Wealth Club, and the Alliance which is a County wide organization that operates behind the scene to scheme and usurp private land and utilize it for their own profit.
When a more convenient meeting time was discussed Mayor Ridenour was the only person who couldn’t make it on Friday. He said he didn’t get off of work until 4:30. Despite the fact Modesto pays him as if he was working full time for them, he was referring to his part-time job with the Sheriff’s Office.
Matt Machado Director of Public Works for Stanislaus County just the day before had held an unannounced meeting with a few landowners from the East end of the corridor. Several at the meeting were suprised to learn of this since the meeting had not been announced.
The environmental study is scheduled to be presented to the public on September 15th. and the 45 days delay for the public to examine it starts then.
Please mark these days on your calendarÂ
The next meeting is scheduled to be on October 13th in Oakdale at 110 South Second St. in Oakdale at 5:30PM.
The second meeting will be on October 14th at 4:30PM at StanCog Headquarters 110 I St. in Modesto at 4:30-6:00.
The third is scheduled to be October 22nd in Riverbank at 3600, Sante Fe at 5:30.
Wednesday’s North County Corridor meeting was cut short yet again when Supervisor O’Brien gaveled it to a close at 4:50PM which is 10 minutes earlier than was scheduled. Hands were still raised requesting the opportunity to speak when the StanCog representatives got up and left the room. The meeting was scheduled to go until 5:00 as usual.
Will the public really get a chance to be heard? Does anyone at StanCog care?
